The Cordillera Mountain Ultra is a physically demanding event and participants should come to the event physically prepared for the rigours of the trail.
Everyone must understand very well that the Cordillera Mountain Ultra is a high altitude trail race with elevations exceeding 2000m above sea level. Given the innate challenges such as physical and mental fatigue which are to be expected in doing a race of these distances and for no other reason but the safety and welfare of all those involved in the event, runners without the adequate entry requirements will not be allowed participation and without exception. Hereunder are some of the risks, but not only limited to such, involved in doing the events;
High Elevation 2000m and above
Long, steep climbs
Extended distance and time between aid stations
Severe weather, including heat, cold, rain, and
Exposure to potential for falls along ridge lines and
Any runner attempting these races must understand that these challenges exist and they must be prepared to make decisions for his or her own safety under uncertain conditions without any expectation of assistance due to the inaccesibility to any type of motor vehicle, remoteness of the race route and the distance between villages/households. While there is no guarantee that the runner is prepared for every eventuality, finishing a qualifying event gives some evidence of being prepared for the races. Additionally, it also improves the chances for a runner to finish the events.
You may camp in Dalupirip at the school or opt to stay in homestays in the village.
We will be designating accredited homestays in Dalupirip, Itogon for the lodging of the participants the cost of the homestays is normally P150-250/person/night.
Participants also have the option to lodge in Baguio and travel to the site early in the morning. But we recommend staying in Dalupirip in order to experience the race village vibe.
There are public jeeps that leave for Dalupirip twice a day from the Dangwa station in Baguio City beside the Public Market.
You may also take a Taxi from Baguio: Cost should be around PhP1000/taxi
We will also try and arrange some other transport options for participants TBA.
